The Salesian Difference

5 reasons at a glance for 2022

Heart: Our strong Ethos means students experience high levels of well-being, happiness and belonging. This means we create a caring, inclusive community in which all experience lifegiving friendships. By reaching out to others as a team whether volunteering in Salesian communities in Zambia or teaching language development classes locally, our students experience on a daily basis that, when you’re happy, you achieve. In these challenging times more than ever this makes the difference.

1:1 tutorials: We provide 1:1 support across the Sixth Form that makes all the difference to our students’ future. That is to say 1:1 in academic subjects, 1:1 for UCAS, careers, Oxbridge, medicine, EPQ and reviews. We are interpersonal; we have the time and space to give our students extra time which is transformative at all levels.

A global Salesian network: We are part of an international community of schools, which allows our students to learn and develop in more than 15 countries during their Sixth Form experience from Salesian schools in New York to being a part of Salesian communities across Europe from Madrid to Krakow. Whilst our networks of Salesian Alumni mean our students enjoy support and connections in all professional sectors.

Leadership: We create game changing leaders with many and varied options for all students to be developed across all sectors from Business to Medicine. Opportunities such as visiting Lourdes and working with children with complex needs or by being interviewed by leaders in every sector from engineering to film production in our careers programme.

Grades: All of which results in Salesian students achieving life changing uplifted grades which widens our students’ horizons and imagination in relation to what is possible for their futures. We are at least 1 to 1.5 grades higher than the main local providers in every subject; this is more than two grades higher than the national average. For example, 91.3% of grades for female students were between A* to B as this prospectus came to press.
