The Parent Teachers Association has very simple aims:
- to provide and assist in the provision of facilities and to promote the welfare of pupils and the College;
- to foster a good relationship between staff, parents, and others associated with the College.
The PTA provides magnificent support to the College, both in time given and money raised. Parents and teachers have lots of fun throughout the year raising funds for supplementary equipment for the school. Many of the events are also supported by The Sean Devereux Trust, Share the Light and HCPT.
Among recent successes were the provision of the outdoor gym, table tennis tables, sports equipment, video and photographic equipment and a new College minibus. Funds raised also pay for Prize Night, Sports Awards and many other events.
Fundraising events include a crazy and competitive Quiz Night, the Annual Ball and the family orientated Christmas Market; these events among others are all easy ways to meet other parents and staff in a social environment.
Communication is through Classlist, ClarionCall messages and the school newsletter. All bookings for PTA events are done via Classlist.
Our Annual General Meeting is held every September, when we always invite Year 7 parents to join us. But we are continually looking for extra help; a good sense of humour is a prerequisite but other than that we’re not fussy – just come and join the team!
