Being Part of Something

Adult environment

Sport

Welcoming and inclusive

Extra-curricular societies

Few things are better in life than feeling a part of something, having friends around and being given the space to be you. We believe that to have a happy Sixth Form life, College needs to be a place where you are known and welcomed.

Our tutor groups

Tutor groups have around 11 students offering a social time, support and a place to develop. Tutors work guiding students, raising horizons, following an education and development programme which develops health, political and social awareness. However, perhaps most importantly, for 15 minutes twice a day you have a relaxed chat and a place to be.

Our Common Room

The Sixth Form Common Room is friendly, welcoming and just a good place to be; having a home at College makes a difference. Led by the student committee whose job is make everyone welcome!

Our away days and leadership events

Each year both year groups have away days together for some space and some fun. Some students lead activities like everyone sailing on the South Coast in Year 12. Working together in Lourdes really gives you a sense that your team and you are there for others. Year 13 students also enjoy leadership development away days in London.

Gathering together each week

Each week Sixth Form led assemblies focus on world issues, debates and provide the opportunity to plan charity and social events. All students learn practically that reaching out for others in charity events makes a difference.

We hope you realise

At our Open Evening or at the taster day we hope you realise, as Emily did, that ‘Salesian was a supportive community environment with a positive atmosphere’ or like Charlotte you ‘noticed how well people knew each other and how well they got on together at Salesian’.

Lifelong friends

Our students are lifelong friends because of the value we place on this. We think having good friends is one of the best things in life.

A home means belonging, being known by name, supported and being a part of something.
