Bursaries are open to any prospective family to apply for. There is an application process managed by Bursary Administration Limited who will organise a home visit (online if necessary). Bursary information can be requested on the Registration Form. Bursary applications should be made in the Autumn Term of Year 6. The Bursary Committee meet in January of Year 6 and awards are made to parents a day after the publication of the Entrance Exam results. Bursaries are initially awarded for one year and are subject to annual review to take into account any major change of financial circumstances. If a parent already has a son/daughter in the school on a bursary, then this will be taken into account. Further information on Bursaries are available here.
The usual academic entry profile at the College is from good average to very able in terms of academic performance. The three multiple choice papers are all standardised, taking into account the exact age of the student when they sit the entrance examination. Further information about this is available during the Entrance Examination meeting with a Senior Teacher.
In Year 7 the boys study subjects with all the boys in their Form except for Maths where some initial setting will take place after the November assessments. Additionally, in PE and Games, the whole year takes part together.

In Year 9, boys are divided into five English sets based on their performance in Years 7 and 8. Also, Year 9 students are set in modern foreign languages based on their performance over the previous two years.
