Academic Overview

At Salesian College, we encourage all students to aspire to the highest level of academic achievement.  The selective nature of the College enables us to offer a curriculum that is broad and balanced which encourages a desire to learn and allows students to fulfil their potential.

In the Lower School (Years 7-9) students follow a core curriculum of 16 subjects. In the Upper School (Years 10 & 11) students study 10 subjects to GCSE which includes core and option subjects. In the Sixth Form (Years 12 & 13) all students take 4 subjects in Year 12 with the majority of these then reducing to 3 subjects in Year 13. Additionally, the Extended Project Qualification is available in Year 13. Full details of these are provided on the adjacent menus.
