In 2017 the College celebrated excellent A level results with a 100% pass rate and 70% of all grades being in the A*-B range. We also achieved a College record of 94% A*-C grades. The academic achievement of the students’ further builds on the enviable reputation which the College enjoys as one of the highest achieving Sixth Form providers in Hampshire.
One of the largest year 13 cohorts in recent years saw many fantastic individual results. Of particular note were the fourteen students (19% of the year group) who achieved three or more A* or A grades each. Amongst these were Thomas Bergstedt and Samuel Kendall with three A* grades and one A grades each. Both will go on to read mathematics at Warwick and Southampton Universities respectively. Thomas Preskett and Emily Wayland (3 A* grades each) have places at Southampton University to read Aeronautics and Electrical Engineering respectively, Robert Lentz (2 A* grades and 1 A grade) will be taking up his place at Oxford University to read History, Natasha Sale (2 A* and 1 B grade and A* Extended Project) will read Sociology at Birmingham University. Benjamin Parris (2 A and 1 B grade and A* Extended Project) goes on to study Philosophy at St Andrew’s University. Also worthy of particular mention are Max Brennan (Maths, Sussex), Stuart Critcher (English, Exeter), Oskar Dytko (Medicine, Imperial) and Jack Sandbach (Politics, Durham) each attaining 1 A* and 2 A grades. Stephen Jackson, Emma-Kirsten Neale, Grace O’Connell, Chloe Pask and Rebecca Roberts all achieved 3 straight A grades. All of these along with the vast majority of their colleagues will be taking up places at a range of top universities this autumn.
