Art
The Art department is staffed by two highly experienced members of staff, who have particular and distinct areas of interest leading to a diverse and challenging subject, which is enjoyed b accountable students.
Art is taught to all students within the College. At Key Stage 3, students follow a syllabus which encourages an interest in drawing and painting, an in the history of western at. Year 10 and beyond follow the AQA syllabus in Fine Art (Drawing & Painting).
In Years 10 & 11, the GCSE groups have timetabled art lessons, but are encouraged – as are the AS and A2 students – to produce a significant amount of work in their own time.
The department has an excellent and well-deserved record in public examination success, with an A*-C pass rate of 100% for the last 17 years.
In terms of extended learning opportunities, the department offers a highly popular after-school Art Club, as well as engaging in cross curricular activities with other departments. Please look through the Photo Tours page for a glimpse at one of the Art Rooms within the College.
