Latin
Latin is taught in a specialist designated classroom. This classroom has access to the internet and other alternative ICT equipment which are all utilised to great effect in the teaching of this subject. Latin is taught to all pupils throughout the College. It is – as with other GCSEs – and option in Years 10 & 11, and is also offered as an AS Course.
The Cambridge Latin Course is now well established within the College and continues to have a positive impact upon teaching and learning. In recent years there have been an encouraging number of students opting to take Latin both at GCSE and at A Level. Results have consistently been of an exceptionally high standard.
Both courses at GCSE and at A Level follow the OCR syllabus and pupils benefit from the rigor and challenge involved.
The Department remains particularly proud of those students who have chosen to continue their studies of Latin at prestigious Universities in recent years.
