RE is taught in two dedicated classrooms by four experienced members of staff. One of the RE classrooms has recently been constructed and provides a superb location for learning and teaching.

At Key Stage 3 pupils study a number of topics ranging from an introduction to Salesianity and Community, to Prejudice and Discrimination focussing on the Holocaust. RE is taught to all students at GCSE and the department follows the AQA specification focussing upon Ethics and Philosophy of Religion.

Results are exceptional and there is also a high uptake of the subject at AS/A2 Level, where the Edexcel syllabus (Philosophy/Ethics) is taught.

In addition to the opportunities within the classroom, the department also has a dedicated retreat programme, working closely with the full time Chaplain, the Salesian Community and Farnborough Abbey.

Also offered are trips to St. Paul’s Cathedral, and part of the VIth Form experience the HCPT Pilgrimage to Lourdes as a Central Services Group.
