Psychology
Psychology is taught by a highly experienced specialist teacher in a dedicated classroom. All pupils studying Psychology has access to full internet and up-to-date interactive presentation technology. The classroom is modern and comfortable and located centrally in the College.
At Salesian, the subject is taught at A Level - the specification used is the AQA A syllabus. Results have been well above average for national and similar centres. Examples of the work covered as part of the course include Social Influence, Memory and Research Methodology. Students find the topics fascinating and there is a high uptake with roughly even numbers of girls and boys choosing Psychology for AS/A2.
Consolidation and extended learning are made possible through numerous opportunities for student-led research into topics on the specification. The department is well-resourced with specialist equipment for the students’ use. There are also opportunities for trips to the Crown Court in Guildford and Freud’s museum in
