Outstanding Success at Junior District Athletics
On Monday 18 June 2012, thirty one boys from Years 7 and 8 competed at Palmer Park in Reading. There were some outstanding performances with Adam Leatherdale winning silver in the discus and Henry Bolden and Matthew Daniels reaching the 150m and 200m final. A special mention must go to Adam Bonnett who became District Champion in the 600m. The overall team result ended with Salesian finishing in 8th place.
In Year 8, Daniel Edgar won gold in the 200m, Patrick Leahy won the 400m, Michael Try won gold in the Long Jump and Rory McMichael became district champion in discus. However, the performance of the day must go to the relay team (Michael Try, Patrick, Leahy, Daniel Edgar and Rory McMichael) who won the 4x100m final by quite some margin. Overall the Salesian team finished runners-up, an outstanding performance.

800M – Ryan Blake (3) Bronze Medal
400M – Patrick Leahy (1) Gold Medal
200M – Daniel Edgar (1) Gold Medal
100M – Rory McMichael (3) Bronze Medal
RELAY – Michael Try, Patrick Leahy, Daniel Edgar, Rory McMichael (1) Gold Medal.
