Environment Day
On Monday 2 July, Salesian College is holding its first totally cross-curricular day, with a theme of ‘Our Environment’.
All students in Years 7 - 10 and the Lower Sixth, will be involved in planning and running one of 26 projects based on our theme. Each project will set the students a particular task and they have to decide how best to approach this. It is hoped that each group will deliver a tangible outcome and that many projects will continue to positively influence College life into the future.
One of the main principles of the day is that the students will be involved in activities that are similar to those undertaken in real life work situations. These will include website and buildings design, business and strategic planning, ‘pitching’ ideas and a whole range of other skills. A small number of professionals have already agreed to assist the groups for at least part of the day. However, we would be delighted to hear from any other members of the Salesian community, who would be willing to share their expertise with our students.
