National Cross Country - 1st Round

On Wednesday 5 October, Salesian College took part in the 1^st Round of the English Schools’ National Cross Country competition at Down Grange Sports Complex in Basingstoke.  The Year 7 and 8 race saw a new influx of runners with Matthew Daniels and Adam Bonnett representing the College for the first time. Michael Try (5), Adam Bonnett who ran superbly against boys a year older than him came 11^th, Jacob Daniels (14), Ryan Blake (23), Matthew Daniels (31) and Daniel Edgar (45). The overall result placed Salesian in Joint 2^nd place with Robert Mays School which means they are through to the Regional Finals at Beth’s Grammar School.

The Year 9 and 10 race was a very competitive with Charlie Mills (8) and Oliver Leatherdale (9) doing extremely well. Daniel Lloyd (22) and Henry Robinson (27) made the top four scores. Sam Peddie (29) and Benjamin Brincat (41) also ran a great race under tough conditions. The result overall meant that the boys finished in 4^th place overall and just missed out on the next round.
