New York Exchange 2011

During the half term week, a group of 10 students from Year 13 took part on the annual American Exchange Programme with the Salesian High School in New Rochelle, New York. The students were accompanied by Mr Patrick Wilson and Mr Matthew Bunyan and were joined for three days by Miss Charlene Enright.
The Salesian College Exchange students spent a week in New York staying with host families from our partner Salesian High School. They had many opportunities to experience the American culture from a trip to Ellis Island, Times Square, the musical Memphis on Broadway and a day in Philadelphia. The students also went to the Ground Zero Memorial, Central Park, watched an American football game at Don Bosco Prep High School in New Jersey and visited the natural History Museum which featured in the film 'Day at the Museum'. The students also attended a lecture at the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History on Fifth Avenue.
It was fantastic trip and the students represented the College in an outstanding way. Strong friendships were formed between the Salesian students of both schools, their parents and the Salesian staff. We look forward to welcoming the American boys and staff to Farnborough in February and look forward to giving them a warm and enthusiatic Salesian welcome. Click here to view some of the photos.
