Times Spelling Bee
On the 27 April, during the College holiday, the 'Salesian Hornets' (Joseph Torjussen, Jacob Wish, James Kennedy and Adam Morgan, all in Year 7) competed in the nationally prestigious Times Spelling Bee at the Cineworld in Feltham. Over a thousand schools compete nationally and this, a southern regional heat, was extremely competitive. Only one team could progress to the semi-final, and, despite a valiant effort from the boys, Salesian unfortunately missed out. They did, however, survive a power failure in the cinema, negotiate some very tricky spellings and receive certificates and 'goodie bags' for participating. It was an enjoyable day and an excellent experience for all concerned.
