Rotary Youth Speaks District Final
On Saturday 5 March, the College’s intermediate team public speaking team of Harry Coloe, Richard Clegg and Henry Jones took part in the District Final of the Rotary Youth Speaks competition in Reigate. This was the third round. The boys were brilliant and did not put a foot wrong in their presentation; indeed they were better than they have ever been! However, the competition was very tough and the standard very high, there really was not much between the teams and the judges decided to go with another school. The boys were complimented on being confident, natural speakers, working very well together as a team. Indeed, one of the judges, a local politician, said he will definitely be using one of Richard’s lines in a future speech: ‘Not all young people are granny-scaring, hoodie-wearing, game addicts.’
