Salesian College - South West, Southern and Welsh Biathlon Champions
On Sunday 23 January, 12 boys competed in the National Biathlon Semi-Final at the University of Bath. The Year 7 team consisting of Adam Morgan (12th), Oliver Broad (20th) and Rhys Holifield (38th) competed admirably finishing as the 4th best team. In Year 8, Kelvin Smith competed very well as an individual and in Year 9, Elliot Broad (8th), Reade Whiteman (12th) and Samuel Gallagher (29th) performed really well finishing 2nd overall as a team. George Williams and Edward Smith also competed in the Year 9 race as individuals and performed very well. The highlight was in the Year 10 competition. The team of Richard Allen (2nd), Owen Wagstaff (10th) and Justin Hanson (14th) beat the very successful Bristol Grammar School to claim the South West, Southern and Welsh title.
Congratulations to Richard Allen who claimed the Silver medal individually and will now progress, along with the Year 10 team to the National Final at Crystal Palace in March. Well done to all the boys that competed and good luck to those who progress to the National Final.
