Junior District Cross Country Championships

On Tuesday 8 February, Year 7 and 8 took part in the Junior District Cross-Country Championships at King George V Playing Fields. Michael Try won the Year 7 race demonstrating his excellent potential. Only the first six runners counted, so it was important that other boys finished as high up the field as possible. Jose Anguita-Caseny finished – 5th, Miles Slee 9th, Ryan Blake – 12th, Gregory Morley – 24th and Conor Fitzmaurice – 26th made the top six and the team finished with 77 points which landed them in 2nd place overall. A great effort!
Other Year 7 boys also worked extremely hard in a competitive field: Jacob Webb – 34th Rory McMichael – 37th, Oliver Broad – 39th, Ayotunde Adelakun – 43rd, Matthew Jones – 46th, Craig Stewart – 47th, Charles Fryatt – 51st. Well done to them!
The Year 8 race was once again won by Charlie Mills who destroyed the rest of the field in this event. Henry Robinson – 7th, Tomas Porter – 8th, Sam Peddie – 10th, Alexander Chalker – 24th and David Brand 28th left the Year 8 boys with 78 points leaving them overall in 2nd place. Other boys who represented the College and did very well were: George Barfoot –28th, Andrew Gregory – 35th, Thomas Field – 37th, Mark Lewin – 41st, Lawrence Jepp – 43rd and Harry Till – 50th.
