Salesian success in ‘Worldwise’ Quiz

Salesian success in ‘Worldwise’ Quiz

On Wednesday 29 September, two teams of three Salesian students competed in the Geographical Association’s ‘Worldwise’ quiz.  The Year 11 students all performed with distinction. They managed to fill first and third positions despite stiff competition from The Marist, St Nicholas’ and Fernhill students.

More importantly the quiz was enjoyed by all the entrants and there was a fun, but serious atmosphere in the room. This was epitomised by Team Barmy Army (Daniel Raw, Robert Hislop & Hamish Beck) who gelled superbly together to claim 3rd place.

The quiz reached a dramatic conclusion as two teams were separated by only two points going into the last round. However, Craig’s Army (Christopher Hawes, Thomas Rose & Benjamin Martin) took first place, narrowly beating The Marist’s top team by a single point, due to an excellent performance in the final ‘Geography in Sport’ round.

Congratulations to all the students who took part and we look forward to next year’s event, when Salesian will be looking to make it three wins in a row!
