Outstanding Swimming Success

At the ISA London West Swimming Gala,
Rebecca Fisher stole the glory with gold in the breaststroke, winning as the first Salesian girl Gold Medallist at the ISA event. Furthermore, Kirsten Brown, Emma Yeoman and Sageera Thavendrarajan made the first ever Salesian girls relay team at a swimming gala and performed well coming 3rd.
The Year 7 team of Rhys Holifield, Connor West, Oliver Broad and Leander Rodricks all swam superbly with golds for West, Broad and Rodricks in their individual races, with Holifield narrowly squeezed into 3rd place in the breaststroke. The boys went on to win gold in the 4 x 50m freestyle relay.
The Year 8 team swam very well too with a gold for Harry Hudson in the front crawl and gold’s for the 4 x 50m freestyle relay team of Connor West, Elliot Whiteman, Kelvin Smith and Harry Hudson.
Determined not to be outdone the Year 9 and 10 team had great success with Elliot Broad 3rd in the front crawl, Owen Wagstaff 2nd in the breaststroke, Richard Allen 1st in the backstroke – a magnificent swim by Richard. Furthermore Justin Hanson was 1st in the fly and 2nd in the IM. The team then destroyed the field to win the freestyle relay.
To cap off a great day after a very early start Michael Harris won gold in the Senior backstroke, William Gallagher gold in the breaststroke, William Fuller double gold in the IM and front crawl. The boys then combined with Justin Hanson to win gold in the relay.
The boys won the Boys Event (for the sixth year running!) and the Team event too!
