Year 7 Geography Trip

On 14 and 15 October all Year 7 pupils enjoyed a day of fun and map skills in Alice Holt forest. The pupils have been learning how maps can be used for a whole range of purposes during their lessons and it was time to put these skills to the test. In the morning of each day, the staff were allocated to a group of 10 boys and were charged with following a route around the forest. In the afternoon, the boys split into small teams and competed in a challenging orienteering course.
Thankfully, all those starting out made it back in the allotted time and some groups were simply outstanding. Charlie Catterall, George Fenton, Louie Gilpin, Harry Kearsley and Tobias Williams (all 1 St Hugh’s) came first on their day, but the overall winners were Jimmy Martin (1 St Aidan’s), Jonathan Bishay, Jacob Daniels and Conor Fitzmaurice (all 1 St Bede’s) who take the Orienteering Cup.
