English Schools Cross Country Cup

On 6 October 12 boys from Years 7-10 travelled to Down Grange Sports Complex, Basingstoke to compete in the English Schools Cross Country First Round.  Six boys from Years 7-8 competed in the Junior Boys’ event which was an excellent race with Charlie Mills (1) beating Tomlinscote School to the line. Henry Robinson (6) worked extremely hard to stay with the leading pack. Sam Peddie came (17) and Miles Slee (19) with an extremely impressive run making up the top four Salesian runners. Tom Field (20) and Conor Fitzmaurice (32) also should be praised for their persistence in this tough race. Overall Salesian were 2^nd and progress to the next round.

Six boys from Years 9 and 10 took centre stage in the Intermediate Boys’ event. Richard Allen (1) and Toby Starling (2) were as always outstanding and with Owen Wagstaff (12) and Will Davidson (17) meant that Salesian came 2^nd overall and are through to the next round. Louie Staniland (22) and Mark Tucker (30) should be commended for their efforts.
