Salesian College in regional final of UK Mathematical Trust Challenge

On 24 November, Salesian College competed in the regional final of the UK Mathematical Trust (UKMT) Team Challenge held in Guildford. A team consisting of four Sixth Form students, John Blackwood, Thomas Dodington, James Kelly and Conor Ketley spent an enjoyable and rewarding afternoon at The University of Surrey competing against top schools from Surrey and Hampshire. They had to solve a range of problems in pairs and as a team, including a cross number and a mini relay. Well done to the team!
The UKMT aim is to advance the education of Mathematics providing enrichment activities. As well as the individual challenges which are available to all pupils in the United Kingdom, there are team events for the most able mathematicians to compete against other schools in their regions.
