Salesian College win 'Top of the Form' competition

Salesian College win 'Top of the Form' competition

On Monday 15 November, Salesian College won the final of the ‘Top of the Form’ competition with a very impressive performance scoring 417 points against 199 points by the second placed team Cove school.

 

The Salesian College team, James Astles, Thomas Bates, Oliver Dunkley, Luke Shirley and George Uzzell won £500 for the College Science Department, a cheque for £25 each and a flight to visit the Devonshire Dock at the BAE Submarine Solutions, Barrow-In-Furness.

 

The competition, which is coordinated by BAE Farnborough is aimed at promoting the practical application of Science, Maths and Engineering knowledge to students ages 14-16.  At the final there were representatives from STEMNET, which aims to create opportunities to inspire young people in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, Rushmoor Rotary Club who helped fund the competition, Councillor Alex Crawford, Rushmoor's Deputy Mayor and Roger Buck, Head of Farnborough Business Partnership.
