Salesian College celebrates outstanding achievements at Annual Prize Giving

On Friday 5 November, the guest of honour Mrs Maureen Devereux in the presence, of Councillor and Mrs Brian Parker, Mayor and Mayoress of Rushmoor, celebrated the outstanding achievements of the students at the College’s Annual Prize Giving Ceremony.  Mrs Maureen Devereux presented the prizes to students both past and present.

Mr Patrick Wilson, Headmaster commented “The Annual Prize Giving is a special occasion when we celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students.  This year the College had many successes, both at local, regional and national level in a wide variety of competitions and sports.  In particular, we celebrate the academic success of a 100% pass rate at both A Level and GCSE of our students in the summer.”

Two students who received awards for their exemplary exam results were William O’Donovan who was awarded the ‘Centenary Cup for the Highest Points at A Level’, having achieved 4 A*s at A level and who is now reading mathematics at Oxford University.

Congratulations also went to Jack Cafferkey who returned from Switzerland for the event to receive the ‘Headmaster’s Prize for Excellence at GCSE’ in recognition of the 11 A*s he achieved.
