History is made at Salesian College

As Salesian College prepares to celebrate the 110^th anniversary of its founding in 1901, the first Head Girl has been appointed.  Katherine Morris - currently in the Lower Sixth - will join Alexander Morgan the new School Captain.  Samuel Cunningham and Kieran Sull who have been appointed as the new Vice School Captains.

Congratulating these senior officers on their new appointments Mr Patrick Wilson, Headmaster, said “It is a long standing tradition in a Salesian School that senior students in the Sixth Form hold a wide variety of positions which enable them to use their gifts and talents to assist younger students.  Since becoming co-educational in 2007, the Salesian College Sixth Form has flourished and the appointment of the first Head Girl in 110 years is well deserved.  Katherine will provide an outstanding role model and mentor for the girls in the Sixth Form and help them settle in and fully integrate into college life.  Congratulations also to Alexander, Samuel and Kieran who follow in illustrious footsteps.”

Katherine, who previously attended Perins School in Alresford commented “I am excited and honoured at being appointed as the first Head Girl at Salesian College.  I look forward to fulfilling my duties and supporting the girls joining the Sixth Form.”
