Year 9 make Salesian Public Speaking history!

Year 9 make Salesian Public Speaking history!

On Saturday 8 May, Thomas Cornford, Joseph Wheatley and Robbie Smith were one of seven teams who won through to the National Final of the Rotary Youth Speaks Public Speaking competition. The competition consists of two age groups, the intermediate (up to age 14) and senior (up to age 18). We have been entering teams for this competition for many years but this the first time that a team has won through to the National Final! It was a prestigious affair which took place at Stratford Upon Avon High School in Shakespeare's birth place, in front of an audience of over 200 people and competitors from all over the country. The boys did brilliantly but unfortunately did not win. However, the day was enjoyable and the experience was well worth it. Congratulations to all three boys, as well as to Jordan Maxwell who stepped in for the Regional Final when Robbie was ill.
