Salesian 'Worldwise' Quiz
In order to decide who would proudly go on to represent the school in the forthcoming Inter-Schools Worldwise quiz to be held at
Ten three man teams entered the competition which was open to all students in Years 10 & 11, with a surprising number of participants from outside the five GCSE classes. The battle was fierce as only four teams could go through to challenge the best that St Nicholas’, Alton Convent and Fernhill will have to offer.
The quiz was made up from three of last year’s rounds from the main Geographical Association event, comprising questions on fieldwork, country outlines and an Alphabet Run of places.
The winning team amassed a superb 31 pts out of a possible 35 and was made up of Edward Green, Connor Muir & Luke Simpson (all Yr 11).
The three other qualifying teams were:
- Jonny Daines, Conor Ketley & Josh Bramley (30 pts).
- David Burroughs-Parke, Spencer Shaw & Laurence Blackhurst (28 pts).
- Toby Sansome, Dan Taylor & Tom Wardle (28 pts).
Many thanks to all the teams that took part and due to the enthusiasm of all involved this will certainly become an annual event.
I now await success to follow in the main competition on Wednesday!
