Salesian College are runners up in IBM Blue Fusion Competition

In March, six Year 8 and Year 10 students were awarded 'runners up' in the IBM Blue Fusion competition (known as Bright Sparks for Year 8). The competition is intended to inspire students and encourage them to take an active interest in Information Technology and understand the vast applications in the world today and for the future. This year 13 schools from Hampshire and Surrey took part in the competition.
The activities during the day were themed around the topic of Earth and were all designed by IBM graduates. They included "Land a rocket", "Art Forge Forensics", "Damage", "Traffic Tangle", "Body Defence" and "Escape from Earth". There was a finale activity using virtual robots programmed by the students.
The boys are to be congratulated for their superb team skills during the day. They received maximum scores for team work on nearly every event. Well done!
