The School Council
The School Council (Student Voice) is an established body within the College, and has representatives from all Year Groups and ages. Each Form Group democratically elects two of their peers to participate in the Year Council, and from this student body two existing members are elected to the School Council.

- There have been three meetings of each of the individual Year Councils so far this academic year.
- There have also been three meetings of the School Council so far with the latest being on February 1st.
- The Year Councils have brought forward many suggestions from each form of initiatives that the School Council might consider.
- In response to these, the School Council formed two sub-committees, Catering and Recreation, to try to take them forward.
- The Catering sub-committee met with Mr Lougee, the Bursar, and discussed several issues with him. He was very supportive and has taken note of these ideas for further consideration.
- The Recreation sub-committee met with Mr Cousins, the Head of PE, and discussed several issues with him. He too was very supportive of a number of ideas and will try to work with the Council to move them forward.
- The on-going work of the Council can be seen with the continued re-cycling initiatives including the green paper bins and the plastic cup bins. The College clock has been re-conditioned and now tells the correct time. The Stationery Shop is open every Monday at 12.45 pm in PE Theory and is fully stocked with exercise books, pens, paper, calculators etc.
- The latest initiative of the Council to be introduced is the timetable of silent study rooms which will be circulated in registers this morning. This is in response to requests from the students for somewhere to work at lunch times when the Library can be very busy. The success of this scheme will rely upon students being silent in the rooms and thanks go to the staff who have volunteered their time to supervise the rooms.
- The Year 10 and 11 councillors have attended two National Salesian Schools Student Voice conferences held in September 2010 and March 2011 at Savio House, Bollington where they have contributed considerably to the broader Salesian community.
